My AI-built app doesn't show up on Google
Updated
The app is live, but searching for it on Google finds nothing, not even its own name.
Why it happens
Search engines list a page only when they are allowed to, can read it, and know it exists.
Possible causes
- A leftover instruction tells search engines to stay away, such as a "noindex" tag or a robots file that blocks everything.
- There is no sitemap, so Google has no list of your pages.
- The text is drawn by JavaScript after the page loads, which Google reads more slowly and less reliably.
- The home page is only a login wall, so there is nothing to list.
- The site is new and Google has simply not found it yet; this usually takes days to a few weeks.
You can't see it yourself
You're signed in, your customers aren't. You reach your app by typing its address. A customer reaches it by searching, and then the first visit has to work.
